Rescue Diver
The PADI Rescue Diver prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond and prevent accidents. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.
You need to be 12 years or older, have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization), have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and a current first aid and CPR certifications within the previous two years.
What will you learn?
Learn and practice with your instructor ten rescue skills in both our dive pool and open water. This will teach you how to recognize, respond, evaluate and prevent both panicked and unresponsive divers.
Day 1 classroom study at our diving center. Rewatch the PADI Rescue Diver DVD in our comfortable classroom and independently complete five knowledge development sections from the PADI Rescue Manual. Review all with your PADI instructor and complete the PADI Rescue diver exam. You are now ready to practice self-rescue skills in our dive pool with your PADI Instructor.
Day 2 Practice the complete ten rescue exercise with the help of your instructor in open water. Make your own Emergency Assistance plan for a dive site.
Day 3 You will complete two simulated rescue scenarios :
Scenario 1 Rescue an unresponsive diver underwater
Scenario 2 Respond to an unresponsive non breathing diver floating on the surface in open water
Your new knowledge and techniques will give you the expertise you may need to handle and prevent almost any emergency situation.
The PADI Rescue course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems and how to manage them if they should occur. “Challenging” and “Rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver Course.
